Imbued with the beauty that Bali so generously offers, we will gather over 4 nights and 5 days on the remote slopes of Mount Batukaru, held and surrounded by lush and pristine rainforest

The solstice marks one of the four great turning points of the year, posing as a poignant window of time to pause, replenish and seed our visions anew

Guided by Samantha and Josje, this retreat is one for the sensitive soul. With spaciousness embedded throughout our time together, included will be daily tea ceremonies, movement practices, rainforest adventures, circles, rituals and educational workshops on cyclical attunement, both menstrual-oriented and astrologically based. 

When dreaming into this retreat, the image that consistently returns to us is a spiraling current of energy. This current is one that flows upwards and out, through the crown and into the celestial and cosmic, and simultaneously travels downwards and in, into the physical and earthly. There is harmony in tending both directions, and in the honoring of the truth that we are, in fact, both matter and spirit. The Solstice Retreat is a deepening of our relationship to each. 

Ultimately though, this is a time to reflect, connect, contemplate and resource ourselves at this pivotal marking of the year. We gather together to submerge in natural waters and in the richness of a living culture, and to be fed, and be fed well.

  • Josje is an artist and counselling Evolutionary Astrologer. A sensitive, perceptive and playful spirit, she supports folk in understanding and navigating their unique soul journey through the wisdom and intelligence found in the birth chart. She is incredibly passionate about teaching evolutionary astrology through a psychological, contemplative and embodied lens. She is also a dance teacher.

    “Astrology is a bridge that helps us to be in deeper relationship with the language of our soul. Growth and evolution occur in a cyclical spiralled nature. What I love most about astrology is that it demonstrates this very notion. The planetary cycles, the moons phases, the menstrual cycle, the ebbing and flowing of the tide, the breath, they all beat from the same heart. There is a natural rhythm, a cosmic pulse, a universal breath infused into all of life. This is the thread I choose to follow and trust.”

  • Samantha Neal is a writer, menstrual educator and facilitator of Japanese, Syrian, Lebanese and Irish descent.

    With seven years of experience contributing to the field of menstruation by way of workshops, online programs and courses, she has supported thousands of girls, women and people in their understanding and integration of menstrual awareness. As a dedicated student of the Tea Hut Tradition, she practices and offers tea ceremony accordingly.

    While her work continues to transform and permeate wider realms, her source of inspiration remains tethered to her personal journey of healing and the practices, transmissions and traditions that support this path.
